Scope note
Painting technique in which wet paint is applied to a dry ground. Given that this is the more usual way of applying paint, the term is typically used only when needed to distinguish it from painting techniques that apply wet paint to a wet ground or wet paint. For example, with the art of Jackson Pollock, where the artist used both methods.
